The 2014 3rd annual “Sunday in the Desert” ride hosted by Brad aka “3” on TotalRuckus. With about 56 riders, this was a great ride to kick off the year. Sunday in the Desert’s meeting spot was near Newhall and 14 freeway at a Chevron Gas Station. This is the second desert ride for us and we love everything about it. Open back country roads, canyons, no traffic or stop lights every 1/4 mile and a great group of riders. The meet-up was located about 50 miles from DROWsports, so the preferred way for us to get all the riders and bikes there was to trailer it. We were able fit about 12 bikes into our trailer comfortably.
Arriving early is a challenge in itself for those of us that may have gotten hammered the night before, but getting there early is really worth it. It’s a great way to check out everyone’s builds before the ride and say hi to old friends.
Honda Grom with all kinds of JDM goodies!!!
Ming’s modded Honda Grom with Öhlins Shock, Brembo Brakes and Over Racing Exhaust
Over Racing Japan’s dedication to quality on this exhaust is pretty impressive, just wish I got a chance to hear it during the ride.
Baller Status Race Tech Rear Shock with remote reservoir
Custom KSR110 with just about every mod you can do to it
After a nice run through the canyons, stopping for a breather, and taking in the scenery
All the Groms somehow ended up all parked on one side. This could almost pass for a scene from a Honda Grom ride, if only we had a little more time, it would have been nice to get some shots of the other bikes that showed up later.
John aka Top Secret Honda CL450 Cafe Bike
A much needed stop before the last stretch of the ride. A spot to fill-up the rides, and un-fill the riders! The Grom proved itself well on fuel efficiency, I only had to fill up once during the ride.
Big bikes stick together!!
John’s sweet Honda cafe bike
Honda Grom with upgraded tail light and rear fender delete setup, a very nice clean-up job on the rear!
