It’s the seal between the cylinder and the crankcase on B-case GY6 engines with 57mm stud spacing, and that includes the 169cc motor in the Polaris RZR 170. It’s a thin part, but it seals crankcase pressure and oil at the bottom of the jug. Its thickness also sets your deck height, which affects compression and piston-to-valve clearance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eA leaking base gasket shows up as oil weeping around the bottom of the cylinder. You may also see crankcase pressure blowing past, or a top end that won’t hold a seal after a rebuild. This is a one-time-use part. Once the cylinder has been torqued down and heat-cycled, the gasket is crushed and won’t seal again.
