Sunday – The Minimoto Takeover & Poker Run
The day was finally here for the actual Minimoto Takeover ride. Because of all the excitement from the previous days at Carter Powersports and the drag strip, it took us a while to get ready. This didn’t deter us from riding one bit! Once we arrived at the meet-up spot, Farmers Market Hawaii, we were expecting to leave right away. We had arrived just before 10 AM. Fortunately for us and everyone else who was late, we didn’t leave until half an hour later. This gave us plenty of time to get some coffee and breakfast before taking off. Once the announcements from Patrick and Mike were made for the minimoto takeover and poker run we were off. Patrick had scheduled several stops for beautiful scenic views and also a food spot! Which in return gave a great opportunity for Mike to handle out the cards.
Hoover Dam
The first major stop we had was at the Hoover Dam, which was beautiful to see. This put us right over the border into Arizona. As we were riding through many of the onlookers couldn’t help but film and take pictures of us rather than the actual dam. The next few stops consisted of scenic views of Lake Mead in the National Park. It was so windy out we did not even have a chance to fly the drone and get some footage.
After another few long stretches, we finally made it to the food spot, Red Robin! Unfortunately, not without some scooter casualties. Two of our customers and friends broke down along the way to the food spot. Fortunately for them, we always come prepared and managed to pick them both up and get them to the stop to have food. Which gave them a chance to sort out what they wanted to do next. From there we took the last stretch back to Farmers Market Hawaii back in Las Vegas. This put our total ride length just under 100 miles.
