Part 5 – Getting Closer
The last update we were trying out the New K-Tech Forks and Rear Shocks, we also installed the Sato Racing Rearset. I finally got the bike painted and I couldn’t be happier with the color. Most of my bikes are dark and not-flashy, for the Grom I wanted something loud and eye-popping. I decided to go with a Neon Yellow.
Grom fresh out of the paint shop.
Panels looked kinda plain without the Honda Sticks.
Rider POV our bar setup.
Detail shot of the Sato Rearset with the Akrapovic Titanium Head in the background. Also, Sato Racing is the best rearset on the market for the Grom in my honest opinion.
Installing new Engine Parts
Back on the table to get more parts installed.
Getting the bike ready to install the KOSO Honda Grom high flow oil pump. Having an oil flow pumps helps with oil flow during demanding track session and when an oil cooler is installed.
Another cool Grom part for is the Kitaco Clutch Cover. This Kitaco Clutch Cover has some cool features built into the cover. One, it removes the factory oil-spinner and replaces it with an oil filter that you can change out without removing the whole side cover. Eliminating the oil spinner also reduce your rotating mass off of the motor. The second feature, it has fitting ready for oil cooler lines. This makes it super easy to install an oil cooler setup. Lastly, it has a see-through glass port for oil level.
Swingarm, Wheels and Brakes
More goodies, Over Racing Rear Swingarm, Brembo Master Cylinder, Brembo Caliper, Grom BST Carbon Fiber Wheels, and Dunlop TT93 Track Tires.
Over Racing Swingarm save about 3lbs and makes adjusting the chain painless.
Brembo RCS14 Master Cylinder just because it looks cool. With my new handlebar setup, I decided to get new short stainless steel brake lines. Brembo Racing Caliper.
Super baller Brembo caliper cost almost triple of the price of the standard Brembo P32 caliper.
BST Carbon Fiber wheel is the lightness wheels available for the Grom. Personally, I’m not into the three-spoke look but once installed it not bad looking.
Fresh and Flush Taillight
We got these New TST Tail Lights in for the Grom and I wanted to try them out. The factory tail light looks out of place (sticks out too much) when you remove the rear fender and most of the aftermarket tail light available for the Grom just looks cheap. The TST Grom Tail Light requires you to chop off the plastic that holds the factory lights. Good thing part is super cheap to replace if you decided to go back to the OEM lights.
This tail light looks good on the Grom and it comes with a license plate bracket.
TST Grom Tail Light is super bright! Pretty sure it’s the brightest tail light on the market for the Grom.
