The problem with upgrading the stock Honda Ruckus tail light to a sleeker aftermarket kit is the rear frame. The stock Ruckus rear frame has a large welded tab for the stock tail light to bolt on. Removing the large tab requires a lot of grinding and sanding. The DROWsports License Plate Bracket kit will save you the time and money of grinding and painting your rear frame. Installation of the DROWsports Ruckus License Plate Bracket can be done with simple hand tools.

Installation Time:

  • ½ to 1 hour
  • Cutting and drilling needed.

Tools Required:

  • 10mm socket and ratchet
  • 5mm standard hex key
  • Drill driver
  • 1/4” drill bit
  • Hacksaw or Dremel
  • Hand file

Parts Included:

  • 4x M6x20 stainless steel screws
  • 4x M6 nuts
  • 4x M6 stainless steel washers

Instructions:

  1. Remove the plastic cover with a 10mm socket ratchet.
  2. Unplug the factory tail light from the harness.
  3. Remove three 10mm screws and the factory tail light assembly.
  4. Draw a line using the DROWsports Ruckus License Plate Bracket as a guide.
  5. Using the hacksaw, cut down the line.
  6. File down and deburr the sharp edges.
  7. Using the DROWsports Ruckus License Plate Bracket as a template, mark the two holes for drilling and carefully drill two ¼” holes.
  8. Depending on how low your bike is, you may need to bend your license plate to clear the rear tire.
