MINI 170 Stock Class 

 

(Ages 4–13 | Beginner Class)

1. Class Intent

This class is intended strictly for beginner youth competitors. It allows only safety-related upgrades and maintains strict limitations on performance modifications. Vehicles must remain as close to OEM stock as possible.

2. Age & Vehicle Eligibility

  • Open to ages 4–13.

  • Approved vehicles:

    • Polaris RZR 170

    • Polaris RZR 200

    • Hisun Strike 250

    • Polaris ACE 150

  • Left-hand drive only

4. Engine & Drivetrain Rules

  • No engine modifications allowed.

  • Engine must retain OEM bore/displacement, head, camshaft, rocker assembly, and all factory specifications.

  • RZR 170 must use 61mm cast flat top piston

  • RZR 200 must use 62mm cast flat top piston

  • No porting, polishing, milling, or machining of the cylinder head

  • Any modification to OEM engine configuration = automatic disqualification AND LOSS OF SEASON POINTS

        No performance injectors, carb kits, jet kits, or fuel controllers allowed

  • No ECU reflashes, piggyback fuel controllers - ARACER Kits not allowed

  • No Manipulation of revlimiter allowed

6. Intake & Exhaust

  • Stock OEM air box, paper air filter, and lid required

  • No modifications to air box

  • Stock OEM exhaust system only

    • Spark arrestor must remain installed

    • No drilling, baffle removal, or internal modifications allowed

7. Transmission Rules

  • Must retain factory gear sets (F-N-R)

  • Heavy-duty transmission mounts allowed

  • Aftermarket clutching allowed

    • Hisun 250 must use stock clutching

8. Suspension Rules

  • No long travel kits allowed

  • Aftermarket A arms allowed, must have maximum width of 55 inches 

  • Stock swing arm only

  • Suspension geometry must remain as delivered from the factory

  • Modifications to OEM shocks allowed, value of up to $1,500. Should this be challenged, any parent in the same class can purchase said shocks for that $1,500 value

  • All shock mounting points must remain OEM

9. Wheels, Tires & Final Drive

  • Aftermarket wheels and tires allowed

  • Aftermarket rear axle OR rear wheel hubs allowed (may not run both together)

  • If running narrow rear tires to match front width (e.g., 10x5 front/rear), rear width must not exceed front

  • Final drive gearing may be changed (front/rear sprockets)

  • Upgraded chain tensioner allowed

10. Fuel Regulations

  • Approved Fuel Category: A only, as defined in the master SXS Fuel Whitelist.

  • Only lawful retail E0 or E10 pump gasoline meeting the manufacturer’s minimum octane requirement is permitted.

  • Race fuel, E15 or higher ethanol blends, methanol, VP M5, nitromethane, leaded fuel, additives, and octane boosters are prohibited.

  • Mandatory items:

    • DOT/Snell full-face helmet

    • Window nets OR wrist restraints

    • 4- or 5-point harness

    • Fire suit, gloves, and neck restraint

    • Aftermarket seat allowed for driver fitment

    • Aftermarket roll cage, nerf bars, bumpers recommended

  • ACE models must have nets on both sides if no wrist restraints are used

12. Body & Appearance

  • OEM body plastics must remain installed

    • Rear bed cover may be removed, but vertical rear firewall must remain or be replaced

  • No other plastic removal permitted

13. Tech & Enforcement

  • Top 4 finishers in heats and mains are subject to mandatory tech inspection

  • Outlaw Series reserves the right to mark engine blocks before competition

  • Engine displacement may be verified by tech at any time

  • “OEM or Stock” = As delivered from the manufacturer. No exceptions.

13. Rear Axles & Bearings 

  • Rear axles must be constructed of standard steel only

  • Exotic metal rear axles (including but not limited to titanium, magnesium, aluminum alloys, or other non-ferrous or composite materials) are strictly prohibited.

  • Ceramic bearings of any type are not permitted.

  • Bearings must be standard steel ball bearings only.

  • No hybrid, coated, or composite bearings allowed.

 

 

Youth MINI Limited Class 

 

1. Class Intent

The Youth Limited class provides a structured and competitive platform for young drivers, allowing limited engine upgrades and safety-focused modifications while enforcing strict tech and parity rules.

2. Age & Vehicle Eligibility

  • Open to competitors in the 4–12 age groups only.

  • Eligibility beyond 12 years old requires Race Director approval.

  • Approved models: Polaris RZR 170, Polaris RZR 200, Hisun Strike 250

3. Approved Engine Configurations

  • RZR 170 may upgrade to 180cc using a USAC-legal kit (e.g., Taida 180cc kit with flat top piston and T300 cam).

    • Must use OEM base gasket P/N 0454392

    • Must use cast 63mm flat top piston

  • NO porting, polishing, milling, or machining of cylinder heads is allowed.

  • Only OEM or approved aftermarket air-cooled cylinders allowed.

  • No water-cooled cylinders, 4-valve heads, or crankshaft/flywheel/camshaft/rod modifications allowed.

  • Clear external markings are mandatory for RZR 170s running the 180cc kit for ease of identification by tech officials.

5. Engine Rules

  • Open engine rules, but must use UTV-based motors, and the engine brand must match the chassis brand.

  • Stock OEM center cases must remain intact.

  • OEM throttle body, intake manifold/elbow, and injectors must remain unmodified.

    • Any modification results in immediate disqualification.

7. Allowed Modifications

  • Exhaust systems

  • Air intake systems (naturally aspirated only)

  • ECU reflashes, piggyback fuel controllers - ARACER Kits allowed

  • Clutch kits (weights, springs,—OEM clutch housings only)

  • Gearing (front and rear sprockets)

  • Engine oil coolers

  • Billet 170 transmission cases, Cognito pinion shaft & cover - CMI cases approved 

  • Weight removal allowed

  • Aftermarket roll cage, nerf bars, bumpers (recommended)

  • Aftermarket seat (for driver fitment), center seat allowed

8. Fuel Regulations

  • Approved Fuel Categories: A, B, and C, as defined in the master SXS Fuel Whitelist.

  • Only the exact pump gasoline, unleaded racing gasoline, or ethanol products named in the master whitelist may be used.

  • MR12 EXCEPTION: VP Racing Fuels MR12 is permitted in this class and must be used exactly as supplied. Mixing MR12 with any other fuel or adding any substance is prohibited. Category D methanol and VP M5, all other leaded fuels, straight nitromethane, fuel additives, and octane boosters are prohibited.

9. Suspension Rules

  • Long travel systems permitted

  • Aftermarket A arms allowed

  • Suspension upgrades allowed, including:

    • Upgrading pre-2021 RZR 170s to dual A-arm front suspension

    • Internal shock modifications or complete aftermarket shocks, as long as they bolt directly to OEM frame locations

10. Prohibited Items

  • Turbochargers

  • Superchargers

  • Nitrous oxide systems

  • Water-cooled cylinders

  • 4-valve cylinder heads

  • Ported or polished cylinder heads

  • Modified crankshaft, camshaft, flywheel, or connecting rods

  • Modified OEM throttle bodies, injectors, or intake manifolds

11. Safety Requirements

All vehicles and drivers must meet all standard vehicle and safety tech requirements, including:

  • Head restraints 

  • Window nets or arm restraints

  • 4- or 5-point harness

  • DOT/Snell-approved full-face helmet

  • Fire suit, gloves, and neck restraint

  • Fire extinguisher (minimum 2.5 lb)

12. Enforcement & Tech

  • The Outlaw Series reserves the right to mark engine blocks prior to competition.

  • Engine displacement may be checked at any time by Tech Officials.

  • “OEM or stock” means as delivered from the factory with no modifications.

  • Any violation of part modification rules results in immediate disqualification.

12. Rear Axles & Bearings

Mini 180–204 Class

 

1. Class Intent

The 180-204 Class is designed for youth competitors in small-displacement UTVs from 180cc - 204cc.. This class allows broad modifications while maintaining platform integrity, age safety standards, and critical technical restrictions.

2. Age Requirements

  • Open to competitors ages 5–12.

  • Racers aged 13 may be allowed only with approval from the Race Director.

  • Proof of age and parental/guardian consent required.

3. Eligible Vehicles

  • Approved platforms include:

    • Polaris RZR 170

    • Polaris RZR 200

    • Hisun Strike 

  • Engine displacement must not exceed 204cc - BESIDES HISUN STRIKE 

4. Engine & Drivetrain Rules

  • Open engine and transmission modifications are permitted.

  • Must use a UTV-based motor.

  • Engine brand must match vehicle brand (e.g., Polaris engine in Polaris chassis).

  • Stock center engine cases must be retained.

  • Turbochargers, superchargers, and nitrous oxide systems are strictly prohibited.

5. Fuel Regulations

  • Approved Fuel Categories: A, B, and C, as defined in the master SXS Fuel Whitelist.

  • Only the exact pump gasoline, unleaded racing gasoline, or ethanol products named in the master whitelist may be used.

  • MR12 EXCEPTION: VP Racing Fuels MR12 is permitted in this class and must be used exactly as supplied. Mixing MR12 with any other fuel or adding any substance is prohibited. Category D methanol and VP M5, all other leaded fuels, straight nitromethane, fuel additives, and octane boosters are prohibited.

6. Weight Limit (Subject to change at any time at race director discretion)

  • Vehicle weight must 500 be lbs OR MORE (dry or race-ready, at discretion of tech official).

  • Hisun weight 750 lbs

7. Suspension & Chassis

  • Dual A-arms are allowed

  • Long-travel suspension systems are permitted

  • Center seating positions are allowed, but must include window nets on both sides

  • All other modifications are allowed provided safety requirements are met

8. Intake & Exhaust

  • Open air intake systems allowed (naturally aspirated only)

  • Exhaust modifications are permitted

9. Safety Requirements

All vehicles and drivers must comply with full safety regulations, including:

  • Head restraints

  • DOT or SNELL-approved full-face helmet

  • Arm restraints or window nets (required on both sides for center seat setups)

  • 4- or 5-point racing harness

  • Fire suit, gloves, and neck restraint

  • Mounted fire extinguisher (minimum 2.5 lb)

10. Clutching

  • 170, 200, and 250 machines will be allowed to modify clutching.

  • Modifications mid-season may be changed at Competition Directors discretion 

 

 

 

Youth Mini Mod Class

 

1. Class Intent

The Open 250 Class is designed for young racers competing in UTVs up to 250cc with open engine modification rules, while maintaining strict safety standards and platform compatibility.

2. Age Requirements

  • Open to competitors ages 5–12.

  • Racers aged 13 may participate only with approval from the Race Director.

  • Proof of age and parental/guardian consent required.

3. Eligible Vehicles

  • Eligible UTV platforms include:

    • Polaris RZR 170

    • Polaris RZR 200

    • Hisun 250

4. Engine & Drivetrain Rules

  • Maximum displacement: 250cc

  • Engine and transmission modifications are permitted.

  • Must use a UTV-based motor—engine brand must match the vehicle brand (e.g., Polaris engine in Polaris chassis).

  • Stock center cases must remain intact for the engine.

  • Turbochargers, superchargers, and nitrous oxide systems are strictly prohibited.
