DROWSports Prototype Parts

Carbon Fiber Scoop Prototypes

When we create Ruckus Parts under our name, we don’t just make something and hope it sticks. Instead, we prototype parts before we send them off to your homes! Today, we have a few examples here for your Honda Ruckus.

First, we have a part that has gained a lot of people talking, the DROWSports Carbon Honda Ruckus GET Radiator Scoop. We’re still working on the name, too. This won’t be your “run-of-the-mill” radiator covers, either! This will enhance the cooling characteristics of your GET Engine all the while making your Ruckus look far racier by being built in Carbon Fiber!

Function dictates Form and this scoop will be no exception! What we are trying to create is a functional, yet beautiful product to install onto your GET Powered Honda Ruckus. We want to increase that airflow by forcing more air into the center of the fan while also directing more air over the radiator. Kind of a have your pie and eat it, too, deal.

Rear Frame Cap Prototypes

Next is our DROWSports Carbon Rear Frame Cap. This is perfect for guys who just got rid of their tail light and license plate bracket. Once you grind down the tab for it on the rear sub-frame, you are left with bare metal. It’s also a hassle to have to try and match that one section of paint with proper preparation, paint matching, feathering, in other words, lots of money for a small section of the frame. Again, DROWSports innovates the remove and ride solution with the DROWSports Honda Ruckus Carbon Rear Frame Cap.

The Carbon Frame Cap is contoured to fit the rear frame so it looks like it was made there. It’s also easy to install with two-sided tape, adhesive silicone, or any other forms of attachment. What makes it so unique is that so long as you have ground the frame smooth, you just place the cap on. It’s just that easy! No paint to mix right, no need to paint the entire frame, just take the cap, add adhesive, and GO!

Delrin and Machined Prototypes

Finally, we have some new material coming in! Delrin is a great thermoplastic made to take the heat and is mostly marring resistant. Right now we have only done the washer for the Super DOTs and the 6 DOT Frame Caps. What’s really nice about Delrin from a machining standpoint is that it is very easy on the tools and is simpler to produce. The material is also cheaper than the aluminum, so costs go down quickly.

This prototype is also designed to take a bit more of a beating and is far more heat resistant than most plastics. It really is an excellent material to work with when it comes to alternatives.
