aRacer RC1 Super ECU has taken the U.S. by storm in the smaller cc engined vehicles. As a result, all new builds and performance parts are being developed for everything from street bikes to side by sides, giving aRacer an opportunity to shine. aRacer has been around for quite some time in Asia, and the products have been tried and tested. We knew it would make the perfect ECU for the Polaris RZR 170.

Polaris RZR 170 EFI

Polaris has upgraded their small bore game by introducing the fuel injected Polaris RZR 170 to the market a few years back. The previous carburetor model was limiting and difficult to develop strong engines. With the new EFI model and aRacer, the RZR 170 is now a much more suited machine. This introduces a whole new world of modifications and upgrades capabilities.

We here at DROW have worked with aRacer over the past year to introduce the aRacer RC1 Super to the Polaris RZR 170 market. This is unlike any other ECU on the market, featuring dozens of adjustments and monitoring solutions. In short, the Super ECU is constructed to be completely standalone, allowing for full adjustment and data feedback. This is key to tuning and building a fast and capable RZR 170. However, the aRacer RC1 Super ECU is recommended for use on race RZR 170s but can easily be used to utilize full performance for a casual ride. We will run through some of the features offered by the aRacer RC1 Super ECU at the bottom of the page.

Improved Performance

The Polaris RZR 170 benefits immensely from the upgraded aRacer RC1 Super. We’ve been testing the RC1 and its little brother, RC Mini5, for some time with positive results. Simply adding the aRacer offers improved performance and throttle response from the get-go. The fact that aRacer has built these as complete standalone ECUs makes it that much more powerful. Unlike piggyback style ECUs where the stock ECU is fighting, the RC1 is a complete standalone and opens up all available options. As we all know, smaller cubic centimeter engines present difficult engine tuning. This ECU offers detailed 3D Fuel Injection and 3D Timing down to the decimal. Not only is it extremely detailed, but aRacer also offers easy-to-use software and applications for real-time engine monitoring, data logging, and tuning.

Free Tuning Software

One of our favorite features with the aRacer RC1 Super is their easy-to-use tuning software. This not only includes their computer program but also their mobile app. Although the app can only provide real-time data monitoring, data logging, malfunction codes, and a few other features, this capability can be used as a monitoring system for temperature and racing information. The superior computer software is the real big gun in the tuning process.

Modules & Accessories

The main drawback to most other types of ECUs on the market is accessory components, consequently making other ECUs a bit more difficult. For example, the RC1 is able to add modules like Race Panel Monitors, Closed Loop AFR, or simply Bluetooth connectivity, which can make or break the quality and support. The aRacer RC1 Super can run all these modules and accessories at the same time. Although these must be purchased separately from the ECU itself, it is a great way to stay on top of your RZR 170’s performance.
