RZR 170 Transmission Output Pinion #19

The output pinion and ring gear are the final drive set in your RZR 170's transmission — the pinion (this part, position #19) meshes directly with the ring gear (position #18) to send power out of the gearbox. Because they carry the highest torque multiplication in the trans, this pair takes more abuse than any other gears in the case. Whining under load, backlash you can feel, or visibly rounded teeth all point to a final drive that's on its way out.

This is the genuine Polaris OEM output pinion, part number 0454556. Factory tooth profile, factory heat treatment, exact drop-in fit — critical on a pinion, where even a slightly off tooth geometry will chew through its mating gear.

Important: pinions and ring gears wear together as a mated set. If your pinion is worn, inspect the ring gear (OEM #0454555) closely — in most cases you'll want to replace both at once, otherwise the worn survivor just eats the new part.
